UN Western Sahara resolution inflicts crushing defeat on Morocco, experts say

ALGIERS - The adoption by the Fourth Committee of the UN General Assembly, by an overwhelming majority, of a draft resolution reaffirming the decolonization framework for Western Sahara has dealt Morocco a "historic defeat," leaving it with "the only alternative" of organizing a self-determination referendum, and is "a notable diplomatic fact," analysts said Saturday.
