In an interview with APS, Mizab stated that the influx of drugs from Morocco should be understood within a broader geopolitical context. He noted that Morocco is effectively "waging a drug war in its regional vicinity" via organized networks that use trafficking proceeds to fund severe criminal activities.

Mizab pointed out that UN and international reports consistently rank Morocco among the world’s leading producers and exporters of cannabis resin. This, he argued, heightens concerns regarding the "convergence" between the narcotics trade, organized crime, and the financing of terrorist groups.

The expert stressed that the parallel economy fueled by the cannabis trade has evolved into a sophisticated "drug economy."

This system not only sustains criminal syndicates but also actively destabilizes formal national economies.

To illustrate the scale and danger of the phenomenon, Professor Mizab cited Spanish reports regarding the seizure of unmanned submarines (narco-subs) used for transport, as well as the increasing militarization of mafia networks to secure smuggling routes.

He noted that recent studies highlight a "true integration" between organized crime and terrorism, with drug trafficking serving as a primary financial engine for subversive activities.

Regarding the social toll, Professor Mizab warned of the devastating consequences for youth, who are the primary targets of these distribution networks.

He emphasized that these substances do more than alter behavior; they impair mental capacities and, according to some studies, may even impact long-term genotypes and social value systems.

This "weakening of vital energies" within communities leads to higher crime rates and the erosion of social cohesion.

Professor Mizab asserted that these international trafficking networks employ advanced technology, including small aircraft and sophisticated maritime vessels, which suggests a level of protection and infrastructure beyond that of isolated criminal groups.

He argued that the Makhzen regime provides cover for this trade, citing reports of logistical infrastructures, including clandestine airstrips, used for shipments. Furthermore, Mizab alleged that the regime utilizes drug trafficking as a tool for political and economic leverage, particularly against Spain.

By intertwining drug flows with irregular migration, he claimed, the trade becomes part of a "strategic extortion system" that threatens regional security.

Mizab concluded that the persistent flow of narcotics reflects a deliberate policy aimed at sustaining the trade for money laundering and other illicit activities.

He stressed that the situation has moved beyond simple smuggling into a "fully integrated criminal system" with profound security, economic, and political dimensions.
