Cylia Ouikene retains karate title, wins gold for Algeria

TARANTO (Italy) - Algerian wrestler Cylia Ouikene retained her Mediterranean title and added another gold medal to Algeria’s tally after winning the women’s kumite (50 kg) event in karate at the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games, following a deserved victory over Italy’s Erminia Perfetto in the final, with a score of 9-3.
