This ceremony was held in the presence of the State’s senior officials, members of the government, heads of national bodies and media institutions, journalists, as well as representatives of foreign press accredited in Algeria.

On the occasion, Minister of Communication Zoheir Bouamama delivered a speech praising the efforts of the media community, which continues to strengthen its role in supporting the comprehensive national development drive led by the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune and consolidating the strengths within the nation's consciousness, enlightening public opinion and immunizing the country.

He also commended the President of the Republic's support for media professionals, who "stand alongside the State in its efforts to achieve milestones and meet challenges, especially in showcasing Algeria's major achievements at home and abroad, demonstrating what the victorious new Algeria is capable of, and countering disinformation campaigns through reporting, imagery and broadcasting, in defence of Algeria and its supreme interests."

The celebration gave media representatives in attendance an opportunity to express how proud and delighted they were that the President of the Republic himself was presiding over the event.

Public media representatives commended the commitments implemented to bolster public service and develop the media system so it can meet both national and international demands.

They stressed that this meeting, which has become an annual tradition, gives media professionals a strong push to carry out their noble mission with professionalism, staying fully committed to delivering accurate and honest information that informs the public while serving the nation's interests.

Several private channel officials expressed their satisfaction with the major strides made to clear obstacles facing the sector.

They pointed out that the new legislation represents the foundation for regulating the profession and protecting journalists, as it has positioned private media, especially visual media, as a key player in shaping the new media landscape.

The officials said they are working to deliver innovative content that meets Algerian viewers' expectations and can hold its own in the regional market.

For their part, online journalism representatives emphasized that their presence at this official celebration demonstrates growing recognition of the digital transformation reshaping Algeria's media sector and shows the President of the Republic's determination to safeguard the digital space and provide technical and legal support for news platforms.

They commended the steps taken to regulate this sector in a way that ensures digital sovereignty and provides digital journalists a safe and stable working environment where they can excel and compete without compromising credibility.

Media professionals unanimously applauded President Tebboune's commitment to upholding freedom of expression within a framework of professionalism and responsibility, improving the social and professional conditions of sector members, and his regular meetings with national press representatives.

They also highlighted his ongoing directives to facilitate access to information and strengthen continuous training mechanisms, with a view to building a media sector capable of fulfilling its role with complete integrity and objectivity.
