In a joint press statement with the President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic, Giorgia Meloni, who is on an official, friendly, and working visit to Algeria, President Tebboune said the visit "provided an opportunity to discuss bilateral ties." "We expressed our satisfaction with the level reached in bilateral cooperation in recent years," stressed the President of the Republic.

"We underlined the strategic nature of our multifaceted partnership, primarily in energy," he said, reaffirming "Algeria’s commitment to fulfilling its obligations as a strategic and reliable partner to Italy and Europe in this field."

In light of "the challenges related to supply security and the stability of international oil and gas markets," the President of the Republic also reaffirmed "Algeria's commitment to deepening and expanding cooperation in the areas of startups, modern technologies, training and scientific research, renewable energy (green hydrogen), as well as innovative agriculture and food security."

As regards the "Mattei Plan" for Africa, President Tebboune commended "the accelerated pace" in implementing two joint projects under this plan, namely seed production in Timimoun and the Algeria-Italy Center of Excellence (Enrico Mattei), which holds an African dimension for training, research, and innovation in agriculture.

The President of the Republic said that an agreement has been reached to "step up the establishment of the Algeria-Italy Chamber of Commerce," which will enable economic operators to leverage both countries’ potential and opportunities.

On another note, continued President Tebboune, the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the cultural, scientific, and humanitarian fields was emphasized, as this contributes to "building bridges of communication and rapprochement between the Algerian and Italian peoples."
