Senior state officials, members of the government, and representatives of the diplomatic corps from Arab and Islamic countries accredited to Algeria joined a large number of worshippers to mark the holiday at this religious and cultural landmark.

In his Eid sermon (Khotba), the Rector of Djamaa El-Djazair, Sheikh Mohamed Mamoune El-Kacimi El-Hassani, highlighted the virtues of the holy month of Ramadan, including worship, discipline, patience, and moral rectification.

He reminded the worshipers that Eid al-Fitr is a day of celebration for all Muslims, marked by joy and jubilation, as well as a time to reflect on the piety and righteous deeds practiced during the month of fasting.

The Rector noted that the blessed Eid is an occasion to renew the values of mercy and forgiveness, to maintain family ties, and to strengthen social bonds through kindness, solidarity, and the promotion of tolerance.

Focusing on the message of Islam, the Rector stated that the faith "rectifies injustices and establishes the values of mercy, peace, tranquility, and justice." He also recalled Algeria’s glorious history, its cultural heritage, and the immense sacrifices of its people.

In this context, he highlighted Algeria’s role in establishing global peace and championing just causes, describing these efforts as "a moral achievement that remains a constant in our country’s civilisational trajectory." After noting the Algerian people’s celebration of the 64th anniversary of Victory Day (March 19, 1962), he stressed the need to "recall the land of Palestine."

He called on Muslims to unite in their duty toward the homeland of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, praising the "resilience of the Palestinian people."

Concluding his sermon, the Rector called on Algerian youth to be "examples and a living extension of the history of their ancestors," urging them to remain "guardians of their identity, the constants of their Ummah, and the unity of their country."

Following the prayer, President Tebboune received Eid al-Fitr greetings from senior state officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and citizens.
