Increase in national guaranteed minimum wage, unemployment benefit ALGIERS - The Council of Ministers meeting, held on Sunday under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, decided to increase the national guaranteed minimum wage and unemployment benefit. It was also decided to examine proposals related to the increase in retirement pension and benefit during the next Council of Ministers meeting. These decisions come to give concrete expression to the President of the Republic's commitments aimed at improving citizens' living standard and ensuring them a dignified life. On the same occasion, the President of the Republic instructed the Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security to begin revising the mechanisms and conditions for the payment of unemployment benefits, which should be paid for one year, with the possibility of being paid for two full years according to conditions defined by regulations.
