Lower House clarifies temporary suspension of parliamentary work ahead of 2 July polls

ALGIERS - The People’s National Assembly (Parliament’s Lower House) issued a statement Saturday clarifying that the temporary suspension of certain legislative and oversight activities ahead of the July 2 legislative elections "is not an obstacle to parliamentary work." Instead, the Lower House stressed that "the measure falls strictly within the organizational prerogatives granted to the Assembly’s Bureau under its internal rules."
