Global natural gas demand hit record high in 2025

ALGIERS - Global natural gas demand reached a record high of 4,202 billion cubic meters (bcm) in 2025, up 69 bcm (+1.7%) from 2024, according to the 2026 Global Gas Report released Wednesday by the International Gas Union (IGU), which noted that gas will continue to play a central role in the global energy system.
