Benyoucef Benkhedda University of Algiers commemorates 64th anniversary of Central Library fire

ALGIERS - Benyoucef Benkhedda University of Algiers commemorated Sunday the 64th anniversary of the burning of the Central Faculty's university library, a cultural and scientific crime carried out on 7 June 1962, by the Secret Army Organization (OAS), with the complicity of the colonial authorities, in an attempt to erase Algeria's identity and intellectual memory.
