BECHAR - The martyr Colonel Lotfi, commander of the Fifth Historical Wilaya during the Glorious Liberation Revolution from May 1958 until his martyrdom in the Battle of Djebel Bechar on 27 March 1960, stands out as one of the most prominent leaders who have shaped the history of the armed struggle against French colonialism, not only for his military competence and expertise, but also as one of the key architects and planners of the Revolution of 1 November 1954, according to the historian and professor of history at Tahri Mohammed University in Bechar, Mohammed Laihar.
