Algeria tightens grip on organized crime networks, targets drug traffickers at source

ALGIERS - The decisions announced during the meeting of the High Security Council held on Wednesday, under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, regarding the establishment of a specialized security body to combat drugs and the creation of a high-security prison in the far south of the country for drug lords, embody a shift from traditional methods of combating crime toward a more comprehensive and firm approach to confronting organized crime and drug-trafficking networks.
