Algeria to chair AU PSC in August, renewed commitment to peace, stability in Africa

ALGIERS - Starting on August 1st, 2026, Algeria will assume the rotating presidency of the African Union Peace and Security Council (PSC), as part of its continental commitments and its continued efforts to uphold the principles and objectives of the African Union, foremost among them the promotion of peace and security across the continent, the peaceful settlement of disputes, and the strengthening of African solidarity and joint action, stemming from Algeria's foreign policy under the wise leadership of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
