OAS waged desperate campaign to derail Algeria’s independence process

ORAN - The French Secret Army Organization (OAS) launched a desperate campaign, in the immediate aftermath of the 19 March 1962 ceasefire, to obstruct Algerian independence, carrying out terrorist attacks and cowardly assassinations targeting defenseless civilians in open defiance of the agreement between the National Liberation Front (FLN) and the French government.
