WHO declares Algeria free of trachoma

ALGIERS - The World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed on April 17 that Algeria has eliminated trachoma as a public health problem, securing its place among a select group of countries to achieve this major goal, according to a statement released Tuesday by the Ministry of Health.
