According to the statement of the Council of Ministers, the President of the Republic, after hearing a presentation on the 2026 agricultural roadmap, "instructed the government to deploy all resources and create the necessary conditions to boost grain production capacity, given the commitment to modernizing this strategic sector to which the President of the Republic gives utmost attention."

The President of the Republic also ordered continued efforts to streamline the sector while maintaining the goal of increasing per-hectare yields "as the highest priority," said the statement.

In this respect, he ordered that scientific methods be adopted at all stages of agriculture through an integrated strategy involving experts and agricultural engineers, while considering seed quality and the specific characteristics and soil types of each region.

The President of the Republic also instructed that the agricultural orientation law be revised, including mechanisms for organizing and regulating agricultural production.

He stressed the need to operate the agricultural sector on the principle of reducing imports without causing market shortages, by promoting the establishment of specialized cooperatives, particularly given the ongoing State incentives.

The President of the Republic ordered the Agriculture Minister to find "appropriate and urgent" solutions to restore red and white meat production to levels that meet domestic market demand, by involving producers and livestock farmers.

Based on the principle that land belongs to those who work it, President Tebboune affirmed "the State's commitment to continue resolving land ownership issues for active agricultural operators and achieving the highest production levels," according to the statement of the Council of ministers.
