Zaid El-Kheir receives President of International Festival of Huwaitat for Development, Culture ALGIERS — President of the High Islamic Council (HCI), Mabrouk Zaid El-Kheir, received on Sunday, at the Council's headquarters, the president of the International Festival of Huwaitat for Development and Culture, Ahmed Ould Domane, as part of strengthening cooperation between religious and cultural institutions, the Council said in a statement. During this meeting, discussions focused on "ways to support community initiatives combining development and cultural dimensions, emphasizing the importance of combining the efforts of religious authorities and cultural actors to promote the values of tolerance and coexistence, and to equip communities with tools for creativity and active participation," the statement added. Ould Domane highlighted "the role of the festival in linking local heritage with its global context" to present an "integrated model of sustainable cultural development," the statement concluded.
