ALGIERS- Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdelkader Messahel received Saturday, in Algiers, UN Secretary General’s Personal Envoy for Western Sahara Horst Kohler who is on a diplomatic tour to the region to relaunch the negotiation process between the Polisario Front and Morocco, at standstill since 2012.
BRUSSELS-Over 90 Sahrawi civil society organizations on Tuesday condemned the European Commission's willingness to continue its illegal practices in Western Sahara, and urging the European Council and Parliament to reject any EU-Morocco agreement that includes this non-autonomous territory without the "explicit" consent of its legitimate representative, the Polisario Front.

ALGIERS- The United Nations Security Council adopted, in a debate Friday on the issue of Western Sahara, a resolution which reaffirms the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination and calls on the two parties to the conflict, Morocco and the Polisario Front, to hold negotiations “without prerequisites and in good faith,” under the auspices of UN Secretary General.
