ALGIERS- Algerian judoka Sonia Asselah (+78kg) qualified to the next Summer Olympic Games, to be held from 23 July to 8 August in Tokyo (Japan), the Algerian Judo Federation (FAJ) announced on Monday.
ALGIERS- JS Kabylie qualified for the finals of the African Football Confederation Cup after beating the Cameroon’s Coton Sport Garoua (3-0) in the return match of the semifinals, played Sunday evening at 5 July Stadium, in Algiers.
CAIRO- The Algerian Under-20 football team qualified for quarter finals of the Arab Nations Cup, after its draw with Niger 2-2, in a match played Saturday in Cairo as part of the third and last day of group A.
TUNIS- Algeria’s athletics team (men and women), with 21 medals (6 gold, 7 silver and 8 bronze), finished third in the final ranking of the 22nd Arab Championships, held from 16 to 20 June in Rades (Tunis).
TUNIS (Tunisia) - The Algerian athletics team (men and women) claimed eight new medals, including four gold, during the 4th and final day of the Arab Nations Championships, played on Sunday in the Radès stadium in Tunis.
CAIRO – The Algerian under-20 football team defeated Sunday Mauritania 1-0 (half-time: 0-0), in a match played at the Cairo’s International Stadium as part of day One (Gr. A) of the Arab Nations Cup, which takes place in Egypt (June 20 - July 6).
LISBON- Algerian open-water swimmer, Souad Cherouati, booked her ticket to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics following her participation in the Olympic marathon Swim Qualifier “FINA 2021,” held Saturday and Sunday in Setubal, Portugal.
TUNIS- The Algerian athletics team (men and women) snatched four medals, including two gold, on the 3rd day of the Arab Championships, at the stadium of Rades, bringing the total number of medals won by Algeria to 13 (2 gold, 5 silver, 6 bronze).
TUNIS (Tunisia)- Algerian athletes (men and women) grabbed five silver medals on Thursday, the second day of the Arab championships, at the Stadium of Radès, Tunis, taking their medal tally to nine (5 silver and 4 bronze medals).
ORAN (Algeria)- Algeria's football team of players active in the national championship (A') outclassed their Liberian counterparts 5-1 (first half: 2-1) in a friendly, Thursday evening, at the Olympic Stadium of Oran.
