CONSTANTINE (Algeria)– Two people died and 11 others were injured in the floods that hit the Djebli Ahmed Real Estate (ex-Kantoli) in Constantine (431 km east of Algiers), the Civil Protection communication officer lieutenant Noureddine Tafer told APS on Wednesday.

 hidden The same official said that the overflow of Ziad river, near the real estate, on the Road 27, between El Menia region and Hamma Bouziane commune, due to heavy rainfalls immersed the area and swept a dozen of cars. The Civil Protection units have rescued 11 persons stranded in their cars, under the waters

 The victims are a man, 55, and a woman, 34, from Hamma Bouziane commune.

At least 70 members of the Civil Protection, twelve trucks and 6 ambulances were mobilized for the rescue operations, added lieutenant Tafer.
