ALGIERS-The International Fair on Security Systems, Environmental Protection and Fight against Fires (2SPRO 2021O) kicks off on Monday at the international center of conferences in Algiers.

RIYADH- Prime Minister, Minister of Finances, Aïmene Benabderrahmane, said Monday from Riyadh that “Algeria’s experiences in terms of environmental protection are a model to follow.”

ALGIERS- Petroleum and mining activities cannot be implemented to the detriment of health, safety and environment protection, the ministry of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, said Tuesday in a statement.

ALGIERS - Minister of Environment, Nassira Benharrats, who participated in the meeting of the African Union (AU) Specialized Technical Committee (CTS) on Agriculture, Rural Development, Water and Environment called for a unified African vision in order to take up the environmental challenges of the post-Covid-19 pandemic, a statement from the ministry said.

ALGIERS- Minister Environment Nassira Benharrats took part Monday in the extraordinary Arab Environment Ministers meeting, in which she presented the Algerian experience in the fight against marine pollution, emphasizing the need to find the appropriate solution to the oil tanker Safer docked on the west coast of Yemen since 2015, to prevent an environmental disaster, the ministry said in a statement.

ALGIERS- President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in the Council of Ministers meeting he chaired Sunday, instructed the deputy minister for Sahara Environment to go to the country's south to establish an emergency plan on the fight against pollution in archaeological and tourist sites and for the improvement of the sewage system, the presidency of the Republic said in a statement.

PARIS- The international non-governmental organization "ICAN" has launched an appeal to "exert pressure" on France to "dig up" the waste from nuclear explosions in the Algerian Sahara to ensure the health security of current and future generations and preserve the environment.

ALGIERS- Seventeen projects in the fields of environmental protection, renewable energy and waste recycling was presented Monday during the 1st meeting of green project leaders.

ALGIERS-The environment-related programmes proposed by provinces have been finalized and the administrative procedures for their implementation have started, announced Minister of Environment and Renewable Energy, Fatima-Zohra Zerouati.     

SKIKDA-Minister of Environment and Renewable Energy, Fatima Zohra Zerouati said Tuesday in Skikda that her department was making “huge efforts” for a strong and balanced strategy to protect environment and promote renewable energy.
