BRUSSELS- The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, stressed EU's position over Western Sahara issue, reiterating its "fully support to the UN-led process" to reach a political solution acceptable by the two parties to the conflict, namely the Polisario Front and Morocco.

NEW YORK (United Nations)-The United Nations (UN) on Tuesday denied false information peddled by Moroccan media about remarks attributed to the Special Representative for Western Sahara and Head of MINURSO, Alexander Ivanko, about an alleged "airstrike had hit a Polisario Front convoy of vehicles that was transporting armaments.”

NEW YORK- Algeria’s permanent representative to the United Nations Nadir Larbaoui reaffirmed, in New York, before the Security Council Algeria’s unconditional support to the Palestinian cause and underlined the tireless efforts  of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune for the Palestinian cause as well as the contacts he made with international personalities to stop the  attacks and violations against the Palestinians in al-Quds.

ALGIERS- President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune called on Monday the international community to take urgent action to protect the Palestinian civilians and their holy places in accordance with the international law.

ALGIERS- Algeria was elected, par acclamation, for a four-year period (from 1 January 2023) to the United Nations Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations and the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development, of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), in elections held Wednesday in New York to renew the members of the two bodies.

NEW YORK- Algeria has achieved an outstanding diplomatic success during its chairmanship of the first session of the United Nations Ad Hoc Committee for the elaboration of a comprehensive international convention on the fight against the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) for criminal purposes, held recently at the UN headquarters in New York and whose works wrapped up on Friday.

Geneva-A group of several international human rights organizations decried the lack of action of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in the face of serious human rights violations that the Moroccan occupation forces commit systematically in the occupied areas of Western Sahara.

SHAHID EL-HAFEDH- President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) Brahim Ghali reminded the United Nations of its responsibility to protect the unarmed Sahrawi civilians living in an armed conflict zone and to speed up the completion of the decolonization process of Africa’s last colony, according the Sahrawi news agency SPS.   

NEW YORK (United Nations)- The Polisario Front has strongly condemned the ongoing scorched earth policy conducted by the Moroccan occupier against the Sahrawi people and its recent intimidation and dispossession campaign to deprive  them of their property, calling on the United Nations to end the acts of brutality and terrorism endured by the Sahrawi people.

MADRID- Spanish Foreign Minister, José Manuel Albares, reiterated his country's support for the efforts of the new UN envoy for Western Sahara, Staffan de Mistura, while stressing his position in favor of a political solution that would allow the Sahrawi people to exercise their right to self-determination in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions.
