ALGIERS-The National Council for Human Rights (CNDH) stressed on Sunday the role of Algeria in supporting Sahrawi refugees through the improvement of life conditions in the refugees’ camps near Tindouf.
ALGIERS- The UNHCR representative in Algeria, Agostino Mulas, on Monday launched a call for greater support for the Sahrawi refugees and the most vulnerable people living among the community of refugees, adding that the support of these people "is needed more than ever."
ALGIERS- The Algerian-Western Sahara Friendship Group, in coordination with the Algerian National Committee of Solidarity with the Sahrawi People (CNASPS), will send next Thursday aid caravans for the benefit of Saharawi refugees in the camps near Tindouf.
ALGIERS- Sixty tons of humanitarian aid made up of foodstuffs and pharmaceutical products will be sent aboard two military aircrafts, coming under the Algerian Air Forces, to the Sahrawi people in the refugee camps of Tindouf, the National Defense Ministry said Sunday in a statement.
GENEVA- Algeria called on Wednesday, in Geneva, for the full implementation of the United Nations’ peace plan for Western Sahara in order to resolve the crisis of forced movements in this occupied territory, through “the voluntary return” of Sahrawi refugees.
BRUSSELS- The European Union said it is satisfied that the delivery of the humanitarian aid to the Sahrawi refugees went smoothly, affirming that it didn’t record any irregularities in this process, contrary to the false allegations circulated by the Moroccan propaganda machine.
CHAHID EL HAFEDH- President of the Sahrawi Red Crescent Bouhbini Yahia on Thursday appealed to donor countries to accelerate the delivery of aid to Sahrawi refugees in the camps, faced with decreasing food stocks and the Covid-19 pandemic.
BRUSSELS- Algeria’s ambassador to Brussels Amar Belani denounced Saturday the disinformation campaign led by the Moroccan media on the so-called “misuse of the European humanitarian aid granted to Sahrawi refugees, noting that these unfounded allegations were clearly denied by EU’s top officials in charge of the file.
JOHANNESBURG- South African activist for climate and human rights defender Catherine Constantinides stressed the need for an international solidarity action with the Sahrawi refugees, reiterating her support to the Sahrawi people’s inalienable right for self-determination.
CHAHID AL HAFED (Sahrawi refugee camps)- A total of 154 tons of solidarity aid was delivered Friday by the Algerian Red Crescent (CRA) to the Sahrawi refugees on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
