TRIPOLI - The Advisory Committee resulting from the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (FDPL) will hold direct consultation meetings next week in Geneva, Switzerland, the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (MANUL) announced on Wednesday

ALGIERS-Algeria plays a “key” role in stability in the region and Libya, hence the need to “coordinate” with this country for the resolution of the crisis that shakes this country, said Executive Director of the Center for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD Center) David Harland.

MOSCOW (Algeria)- Former Algerian diplomat and UN envoy, Lakhdar Brahimi,  put forward the key role of the United Nations in the settlement of conflicts in the world, stressing the need for the appointment of UN envoys to Libya and Western Sahara.

ALGIERS- Russia's Ambassador to Algeria, Igor Beliaev, said Tuesday that Algeria was a "key element" in the African and the Mediterranean regions, stressing "its pivotal role" in the settlement of the Libyan crisis.

ALGIERS-Algeria's approach is intended to be a key reference for the settlement of the Libyan crisis, particularly with regard to the inter-Libyan political dialogue under the aegis of the UN, capable of building legitimate and unified institutions through regular and transparent elections that would lead Libya to a successful solution, Libyan political experts said.

ALGIERS- UN-sponsored permanent ceasefire agreement in Libya continued Saturday to trigger reactions from countries and international organizations, calling on Libyans to commit, "in good faith," to the implementation of the provisions of this "major achievement" in order to restore peace permanently in their country.

GENEVA- The warring parties in Libya signed on Friday a permanent ceasefire across the entire Libyan territory, after five days of UN-sponsored discussions in Geneva, said the UN.

ALGIERS- President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune and his Tunisian counterpart Kaïs Saïed, on Monday in a telephone conversation discussed the bilateral relations and the latest developments occurred at the regional level, in particular the Libyan question, said a press release from the Presidency of the Republic.

ALGIERS- Foreign Affairs Minister Sabri Boukadoum denounced Monday, in Algiers, the “contradictory initiatives” for the settlement of the Libyan crisis, which according to him, nurture the conflict rather than solving it.

ALGIERS- Minister of Foreign Affairs Sabri Boukadoum called on Monday the United Nations Security Council to “speed up”  the appointment of a special envoy for Libya and to make sure that its decision on arms embargo is fully respected.
