In a message addressed to the media corporation under the celebration of the National Press Day, which coincides with 22 October, the head of State said that “in addition to the enshrinement of the freedom of press and adaptation to the digital era of media products, we need further efforts to acquire control and knowledge tools to resist the fourth generation wars targeting it.”
“These wars are part of the plans with multiple facets attacking our country, or even its secular identity through cleverly orchestrated plots undermining the emergence of New Algeria, which is determined to regain its pioneering role regionally and the place it deserves in international fora,” he continued.
“The land of shouhadas (martyrs) is targeted by several conspiring parties that use intensified spying and cyber methods seeking to besmirch the history and memory of the nation. Algeria will foil these vain attempts through the vigilance of Algerians and the experienced lines of defense to which the press corporation adhere with a high sense of professionalism and an unwavering commitment,” stressed President Tebboune.
The nationalist conscience of the press corporation enables them to “face the lies and misinformation emanating from the sponsors of an ignoble cybernetic, and counter their minions that work to harm Algeria and resort to treacherous websites.”
The head of state reiterated his recognition to those who have remained faithful to the free and sovereign Algeria, and have enriched with their experiences the democratic and pluralist press whose missions have been entrusted to a new generation of journalists that have become one of the pillars of immunization of Algeria and the perpetuation of its stability and national security.
“I commend the nationalist spirit and professionalism shown by the press corporation,” said the head of state.
