"President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense on Saturday chaired a meeting of the High Security Council at the headquarters of the Presidency of the Republic to assess the situation in the country in the light of recent developments concerning the Covid-19 pandemic," said the same source.
"On this occasion, President Tebboune recalled the previous measures that have proven their effectiveness and stressed the importance of maintaining them at the end of the Holy month of Ramadan and Eid al Fit," said the Presidency of the Republic.
The Head of State urged further responsibility "and a high level of vigilance to ensure the security of all," said the communiqué.
In addition, the High Security Council heard a report by the Prime Minister on the repatriation of Algerians who remain stranded abroad due to the closure of international airspace.
In this regard, the President of the Republic gave "instructions to take the most coordinated measures possible in accordance with the particular conditions of each group of citizens.”
President Tebboune also instructed the High Security Council members to "immediately draw up a post-Covid-19 action plan that takes into account the health, economic and social aspects.”
Besides, the Head of State “urged solidarity with those who have been severely affected by this pandemic", the communiqué concluded.
