The polling stations have opened in Birmingham and Manchester (England), Glasgow (Scotland), Cardiff (Wales), in Belfast (Northern Ireland) and Dublin (the Republic of Ireland).
All necessary material and human resources have been made available for the elections to go smoothly in those cities, Consul Kenza Benali said.
The legislative elections in the United Kingdom began in the Consulate of London, where the polls will continue until eight o'clock of the evening.
For the other six polling stations, the polls will end at 19:00.
London is the British city that is home to the largest number of Algerian nationals living in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.
