ALGIERS- Significant decisions to secure the borders have been taken in an inter-ministerial council meeting late March to face the constant flow of African migrants to Algeria, the director of studies for migration at the ministry of Interior said.

ALGIERS-  Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdelkader Messahel and Italian counterpart Angelino Alfano stressed the "need" for "regular" consultations between the two countries in a view to eradicate migration scourge, which "puts the lives of thousands in danger," said Saturday the Foreign Ministry in a communiqué.

ALGIERS-Chairman of the Committee on foreign affairs, cooperation and the national community abroad of the People's National Assembly (Lower House) Abdelhamid Si Afif and Secretary General of Italy's Foreign Ministry Elisabetta Belloni advocated the adoption of a comprehensive strategy to address migration, a phenomenon that threatens security and stability, said the Lower House in a communiqué.

 AMMAN- Algeria’s representative in the meeting of the Arab and Asian parliamentarians on population and development said Tuesday, in Amman, that Algeria has made major efforts to receive and take care of the African migrants and displaced Syrians in accordance with human rights and relevant international charters.

ALGIERS- The president of the Algerian Red Crescent (CRA), Saida Benhabyles urged great powers that are behind the humanitarian disasters in the world to assume and share the burden with Algeria, which is hosting thousands of migrants from Syria and sub-Saharan countries.
