ALGIERS-Algeria's population has reached 41.7 million on 1 July 2017 against 30.1 million in 2000, according to a document on the demographic and health situation (2000-2017) released Tuesday by the Ministry of Health, the Population and Hospital Reform.
ALGIERS-Minister of Religious Affairs Mohamed Aissa announced Sunday in Algiers the upcoming opening of an electronic portal enabling hajjis' relatives to follow their movements in the Holy Places through free electronic chips that will replace the electronic bracelets "object of a great controversy".

Road accidents: 1351 dead in H1 2017

ALGIERS-1351 people were killed in road accidents in the first half of 2017 against 1559 deaths during the same period of last year, down by 13,34%, the National Gendarmerie said in a troll.

7th Taj al-Quran Contest wraps up

ALGIERS- The 7th “Tadj al-Quran” Contest, organized by the National Television, wrapped up Friday at the Exhibition Centre (Pin Maritime-Algiers) in an atmosphere of piety and humility.
