ALGIERS-MPs of the People’s National Assembly (Lower House) on Tuesday welcomed the decision taken by President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika to declare Yennayer a legal holiday and affirmed that history will remember this “brave decision that strengthens the foundations of national identity in its triple component.
ALGIERS- The decision taken by President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika to enshrine the new Amazigh year “Yennayer” as a national holiday has come to strengthen the foundations of the national identity and to preserve it from political instrumentalization, affirmed Tuesday Speaker of the People’s National Assembly Said Bouhadja.
ALGIERS- Minister of Culture Azeddine Mihoubi affirmed Friday, in Algiers, that the enshrinement of the new Amazigh year “Yennayer” as a national holiday by President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika enshrines the national identity which will be strengthened in the future by the creation of the Algerian academy of Tamazight.
PARIS- Yennayer, which marks the new Amazigh year, from now on a national holiday, was celebrated Friday evening at the Algerian Cultural Centre of Paris (CCA) in a festive atmosphere.
