ALGIERS-The current production capacity of surgical masks stands at 400,000 masks per day, said the Ministry of Pharmaceutical Industry in a communiqué.

ALGIERS- Some 1700 healthcare professionals, all services included, have been infected with the coronavirus (Covid-19) in Algeria, since the outset of the outbreak in the country in February, Prof. Abdelkrim Soukehal, a member of the scientific committee for monitoring the progress of the pandemic, said Wednesday in Algiers, adding that the virus spreads "very quickly" worldwide.

ALGIERS- More than 2,600 medical teleconsultations, most of them linked to Covid-19, have been carried out since the end of March thanks to the new medical service eTabib.dz, Dr. Mustapha Nabil, founder of the eTabib.dz platform, told APS on Monday.
