ALGIERS-Director of Health Prevention and Promotion at the Ministry of Health, the Population and Hospital Reform, Dr Djamel Fourar on Sunday reiterated “Algeria’s commitment to permanently eradicating tuberculosis by 2030” in accordance with the agenda set by the World Health Organization (WHO) and Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs).

ALGIERS- Minister of Helath, Population and Hospital Reform Mokhtar Hasbellaoui discussed on Staurday in Djeddah (Saudi Arabia), with Saudi counterpart Tawfiq Bin Fawzan Al Rabiah ways for strengthening health cooperation between Algeria and Saudi Arabia, said the ministry in a communiqué.

 State will not give up free health care

  ALGIERS- Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia said Thursday that free health care is a "sacred principle" to Algeria, denying what is said about Algerian State's intention to abandon this principle.

ALGIERS- The Regional Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) for Africa Matshidiso Moeti will pay Wednesday a three-day official visit to Algeria to “assess the efforts made” in the health sector, announced the Ministry of Health, Population and Hospital Reform.

ALGIERS-The Labour Ministry provides a flat-rate contribution worth DZD80 billion to the yearly financing of hospitals and the reimbursement of more than 4,000 drugs including anti-cancer ones in 2019, said Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security, Mourad Zemali.

Health coverage: Algeria pioneer in Africa

TISSEMSILT- Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) Dr. Francois Bla Nguessa underlined Wednesday that “Algeria has a pioneering experience in Africa in extending health coverage to all citizens.”

ALGIERS- Algeria made in 2018 major progress in mastering space telecommunications with the successful broadcasting of public television and radio channels from the new Algerian satellite Alcomsat-1, and with the launch of distance learning and telemedicine programmes via this satellite.

ALGIERS- More than 300 Algerian startups specialized in the digital technologies and innovative solutions are contributing to the “Algiers, Smart City” project, affirmed Sunday the governor of Algiers Abdelkader Zoukh. 

BOUIRA-Eleven (11) Technology and Invention Support Centres (CATI) were created within universities and companies, announced Sunday Mohamed Sebbagh, Statistics Manager at the Algerian National Institute of Industrial Property (INAPI).
