ALGIERS- Minister of Health, Population and Hospital Reform Abderrahmane Benbouzid gave Sunday, in Algiers, his consent to specialists to use the thoracic scanner as an alternative to detect Covid-19 so that the treatment with chloroquine could be administered rapidly and avoid thereby the deterioration of the patient’s condition and the spread of the pandemic.

ALGIERS- Algeria has recorded 139 new confirmed cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) and 25 new deaths over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 986 and that of deaths to 83, the spokesman of the Scientific Committee for monitoring the progress of the coronavirus pandemic, Prof. Djamel Fourar, said at a press briefing Thursday in Algiers.

ALGIERS- A new coronavirus (COVID-19) case has been confirmed in Algeria, bringing the number of people tested positive to 20, seventeen of whom are members of the same family, the ministry of Health, Population and Hospital reform said in a statement.
