We will not leave any Algerian family without assistance, says Djerad

BLIDA (Algeria)- Prime Minister Abdelaziz Djerad said Monday in Blida (50-km southwest of Algiers) that the State will not abandon any Algerian family, wherever it is, in this health crisis shaking the country due to the spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

"Despite the difficult financial situation our country is going through, because of the falling oil prices, the Algerian State will not abandon any Algerian family, wherever it is, in the mountains, in towns, in villages or the Sahara region," Djerad said on the sidelines of a visit to Frantz Fanon Hospital in Blida.

The premier, visiting the new intensive care unit at Frantz Fanon Hospital, got details about the health care patients infected by the coronavirus are receiving.

Djerad recalled the mechanisms of solidarity with local bodies, put in place recently, to meet the needs of confined families and deal with day workers, left without income because of the home confinement.

"Through the State-established mechanisms of solidarity, coupled with the spontaneous surge of solidarity from the local population of Blida and Algerians nationwide, no Algerian will be left without assistance," the prime minister emphasized.
