ALGIERS-Five hundred and twenty-nine (529) new confirmed cases of coronavirus (Covid-19), 429 recoveries and 9 deaths were reported over the last 24 hours in Algeria, said Friday Spokesman for the Scientific Committee in charge of monitoring the evolution of the Coronavirus pandemic, Dr Djamel Fourar.

ALGIERS-Six hundred twenty-one Algerian nationals arrived at Algiers Houari Boumediene International Airport on 4-5 August aboard two aircrafts from Paris under the third stage of the repatriation operation of the Algerians stranded abroad due to the Covid-19 pandemic, announced Thursday Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abdelaziz Benali Cherif.

Gas markets: Sonatrach deals with situation

ALGIERS-The national hydrocarbon company Sonatrach deals with the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the international gas market by relying on the flexibilities provided for in its gas contracts and the use of other solutions, said Minister of Energy Abdelmadjid Attar.

ALGIERS-The fact that Algeria is not included in the updated list of countries whose citizens are not allowed travelling to the European Union (EU) "has no practical effect", the country having already decided to keep its borders closed by strict commitment to the principle of protection of its citizens against imported Covid-19 cases, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said Sunday in a statement.
