Major achievements of development, possible thanks to State proximity to citizens

RELIZANE (Algeria)– Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and National Planning Noureddine Bedoui said on Wednesday in Relizane (295 km west of Algiers), that the major development achievements have been made possible thanks to the proximity policy.

On the sidelines of his visit to the province, the minister said that major achievements were made thanks to the programmes of President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika, who instructed the state executives to adopt a policy of proximity and be attentive to the citizen’s concerns.

Noureddine Bedoui said that through this policy, the citizen is placed in the heart of the strategies and the challenges of the country’s development.

In Ouled Yaâla village, at the El Matmar locality, the minister has conversations with local citizens. He emphazised the achievements made thanks to the peace and national reconciliation policy, which helped eliminate terrorism in the most remote regions.

Subsequnetly, those regions benefited from multiple programmes of development.

Inhabitants of this locality, home to the water transfer project from the Oran-based El Mactaa water desalination plant, expressed satisfaction as deprived and mountainous regions will have drinking waters around the clock.

The minister broached women’s place in urban and rural areas and their integration into the different fields, in application of the policy approved by the President of the Republic.

Visiting the textile complex "Tayal", part of an Algerian-Turkish partnership, the minister spoke with its executives who committed to consider the possibilities of exploiting local raw materials, namely cotton.

In past decades, the region has been renowned for the cultivation and the production of quality cotton varieties.

Interior Minister said that the Algerian state spares no effort to support all activities aiming at boosting national production.

The textile complex Tayal has recently exported a significant amount of its products to a number of European countries, like Belgium and Turkey.
