CAIRO-Algeria will be the guest of honour at the 49th Cairo International Book Fair, scheduled on 27 January-10 February 2018, in Nasr City, the event organization committee announced in a meeting held Tuesday in Cairo.
ALGIERS- Minister of Culture Azzedine Mihoubi has announced Sunday that Algerian cinema would be celebrated at Carthage Film Festival in Tunisia, due to be held from 4 to 11 November, said the Ministry in a statement.
FAMECK (France)- The Algerian cinema will be the guest of honour at the 28th Arab Film Festival, scheduled from 4 to 16 October in Fameck (noth-west of France), said the organizers on the festival’s website.
The artist, who was invited by "The National Algerian Centre" (NAC), performs for the first time in the United Kingdom. He presented tales inspired from the Algerian oral legacy to an audience made up of youth and children accompanied by their parents.
PARIS- A cultural event entitled “Algeria talks about itself” was organized Saturday, in Lille, as part of the promotion of the Algerian culture, according to Algeria’s general consulate in Lille.
AMMAN- The Algerian play “Hafl Itizal," presented by the cultural association “Skamla” of Bou Ismail (Tipaza), at the 10th International Theatre Festival in Jordan, won two prizes at the wrap up of this event, marked by the participation of nine Arab countries.

AMMAN (Jordan)- "Hafl Itizal," a play by the Algerian cultural association Skamla of Tipaza, was performed for the first time outside Algeria as part of the 10th International Theatre Festival of Jordan, captivated the audience in Jordan.
ALGIERS-The 22nd edition of the International Book Fair (SILA), which will take place on 25 Octobre-5 November), has chosen South Africa as guest of honour. Many African publishing houses, authors and writers will take part in this edition, SILA Commissioner Hamidou Yahiaoui announced said Sunday in Algiers.

Maestro Rachid Saouli passes away

ALGIERS- Symphonic music orchestra conductor Rachid Saouli died Saturday morning in Algiers of a heart attack at the age of 65, and was interred, in the afternoon, at El Alia cemetery, said the director of the National Higher Institute of Music, Abdelkader Bouazara.
