ALGIERS-Algerian Archaeologist Toufik Hammoum has been reappointed head of the Scientific and Technical Advisory Board (STAB) of the UNESCO convention for the protection of underwater cultural heritage, announced the Ministry of Culture and Arts.

ALGIERS-The Regional Centre for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Africa (CRESPIAF) is organizing, in Algiers, a training workshop with a view to strengthening UNESCO's global network of facilitators in Africa. The workshop started Tuesday (July 9) and will run until Saturday (July 13), said Monday Director of the Centre Slimane Hachi.

ALGIERS- Archeologist Toufik Hamoum was elected president of the Scientific and Technical Advisory Body (STAB) of 2001’s Convention of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for the protection of underwater cultural heritage, following the 7th meeting of the States Parties, held on 20-21 June, said a communiqué of the Ministry of Culture.

PARIS (France)- The international day of living together in peace, initiated by Algeria, has been celebrated Thursday, for the second time in a row, at the UNESCO with the participation of the representatives of governments and civil society.
