ALGIERS- Restoring the people’s right to contribute to decision making and promoting the role of young people in the construction of the country were the main themes broached, Monday on the 9th day of the election campaign, by the candidates in their meetings.

Terrorist eliminated in Jijel Sunday

ALGIERS- Army detachment killed Sunday a terrorist in an ambush in Oued Essafsaf in Jijel, recovering his Kalashnikov submachine gun, the ministry of National Defense said Monday in a statement.
ALGIERS- President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika sent a congratulation message to his Syrian counterpart Bachar Al-Assad, on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of Syria’s independence, in which he welcomed the level of the bilateral relations, expressing the hope that the Syrian dialogue reach a settlement to the crisis affecting the country.
ALGIERS- The national press published Monday highlighted candidates’ speeches on the occasion of the 4 May Legislative elections, dubbing them “war of words,” or even“the temptation of demagogy.”
ALGIERS- High Independent Authority of Election Monitoring (HHISE) expressed its satisfaction with the election campaign for the legislative elections of 4 May 2017, on its first week, reminding the candidates of the need to respect the law and avoid violations.
