ALGIERS - Services of the province of Algiers said Friday that taxis are allowed to continue their activity normally by respecting the lockdown measures, and that goods's transporters and market suppliers are not concerned by the prohibition of movement between provinces, announced Thursday.

ALGIERS- Minister of Trade, Kamel Rezig chaired, on Tuesday, an emergency meeting with regional directors of the province of Setif and neighboring provinces during which he gave instructions to ensure market supply after the decision to impose a partial lockdown in 18 municipalities of the province to contain the COVID-19 pandemic, the ministry said in a statement.

ALGIERS-The renewal of lockdown “is not on agenda” but this measure is not totally excluded and will target the localities experiencing “significant spread" of cases of contamination with the coronavirus, said Sunday Minister of Health, Population and Hospital Reform Abderrahmane Benbouzid.

AIN DEFLA-Minister of Health, Population and Hospital Reform Abderrahmane Benbouzid ou Sunday ruled out the possibility of a new lockdown currently in the provinces experiencing an increasing propagation of the Covid-19 pandemic unless there is a “compelling reason.”     

ALGIERS- The government has decided to extend until 13 July the current lockdown measures, taken as part of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, and which provide for its lifting in 19 provinces and for its maintaining from 8 p.m. to 5.00 a.m. in the 29 other provinces, said Monday a communiqué of the Prime Minister’s Office.

ALGIERS- Economic, commercial and service activities will resume, in two phases, from Sunday 7 June 2020, under the lockdown lifting plan set by the government, the Prime Minister's office said in a statement.

ALGIERS- The Council of ministers, met Sunday under the chairmanship of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, decided the gradual lifting of lockdown in the sector of building and public works according to a plan developed by the Prime minister’s Office in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the scientific Committee.

ALGIERS - The working hours in public institutions and administrations have been set following the extension of the partial containment measures provided for by the regulatory framework relating to the prevention and control of the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19) until June 13, 2020, said Saturday the Directorate General of Public Service in a statement.
