The prayers of Maghreb and Ishaâ were performed by Prime Minister, Abdelaziz Djerad alongside with interim President of the Council of the Nation Salah Goudjil, Speaker of the National People's Assembly (APN) Slimane Chenine, President of the Constitutional Council Kamel Fenniche and President of the High Islamic Council (HCI) Bouabdellah Ghlamallah, as well as members the Government, advisers to the President of the Republic, senior State officials, representatives of the Algerian diplomatic corps, imams, Scholars of Zaouiyas and reciters of the Koran.
The call to prayer (the adhan) has been launched for the first time at the Grand Mosque of Algiers by Muezzin Yacine Iamrane, while the prayer was executed by the Imam of Abdelhamid Ben Badis Mosque of Oran, Mohamed Megatli.
Between the Maghreb and Isha prayers, Holy Quran reciters and teachers who have supervised the national week of the Koran, recently organized in Mostaganem were rewarded.
In a speech, Minister of Religious Affairs and Wakfs Youcef Belmehdi said that the Djamaâ El Djazaïr inauguration which coincides with the Revolution outbreak celebration marks the "respect of November (revolution) legacy."
For the Minister, Djamaà El Djazaïr will contribute to strengthening the authentic national referent and its dissemination both inside and outside the country, especially in the Sahel countries."
Speaking about the Prophet Mohamed (PBUH), the minister said that "his birth brought love and coexistence, as he was sent as a mercy for Humanity," adding that "world leaders, thinkers and men of letters have attested that "Mohammad is a Messenger for mankind," just as the defense of his religion Islam and his teachings" must be done with wisdom and without anger."
The inauguration of Djamaâ El Djazaïr prayer room only is due to the health situation induced by the COVID-19 pandemic spread.
This situation has led to the postponement of the inauguration of Djamaâ El Djazaïr, in the presence of Muslim religious authorities from five continents, institutions and universities from the Muslim world, international Islamic organizations, Ulemas and intellectuals.
At the end of the pandemic, the President of the Republic will personally inaugurate of Djamaâ El Djazaïr in the presence of guests from Algeria.
