Covid-19 : Current partial lockdown measures maintained in 29 provinces

ALGIERS- The current partial lockdown measures taken by the public authorities to contain the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19) have been extended for ten days in 29 provinces, announced Thursday a communiqué of the Prime Minister’s Office.

“After consulting the scientific committee and health authority and assessing the health situation nationwide, showing

the increased speed of the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, Prime Minister Abdelaziz Djerad and after agreement of President of the Republic decided to extend the measures decreed by the provisions of the executive decree n20-182 of 17 Dhou El Kaada 1441 corresponding to 9 July 2020 on the strengthening of the measures of prevention and fight against the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19).”

 

1.  Extending, as from Saturday and for ten days, the partial lockdown from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. in the provinces of Adrar, Chlef, Laghouat, Oum El Bouaghi, Batna, Bejaia, Biskra, Bechar, Blida, Bouira, Algiers, Djelfa, Setif, Sidi Bel Abbes, Annaba, Constantine, Medea, Msila, Mascara, Ouargla, Oran, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Boumerdes, Tissemsilt, El Oued, Khenchela, Souk Ahras, Tipaza and Relizane.

 

  1. Extending the ban on road traffic for ten days, including passengers vehicles from and to the provinces of Adrar, Chlef, Laghouat, Oum El Bouaghi, Batna, Bejaia, Biskra, Bechar, Blida, Bouira, Algiers, Djelfa, Setif, Sidi Bel Abbes, Annaba, Constantine, Medea, Msila, Mascara, Ouargla, Oran, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Boumerdes, Tissemsilt, El Oued, Khenchela, Souk Ahras, Tipaza and Relizane.

 

Staff and freight transport is not concerned by this measure.

 

  1. Extending the ban on public an private transport activity on the weekends in the 29 provinces cited previously

  2. Maintaining the prerogative given to the walis to take, after agreement with the competent authorities, all measures required by the health situation in each province, notably the establishment, modification or modulation of hours, partial or total lockdown measure of one or several communes, localities or districts with foci of infection

  3. Maintaining the prerogative given to the walis to grant, when needed or for exceptional situations, traffic authorizations.

  4. Continuing disinfection operations of public spaces in all the provinces

  5. Increasing communication and awareness-raising campaigns by involving associations and neighborhood committees.
