Achir Orders of Merit awarded posthumously to Aicha Barki, members of healthcare staff

ALGIERS-On behalf of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Prime Minister Abdelaziz Djerad awarded Thursday in Algiers orders of merit of Achir rank posthumously to the former Chairwoman of the Iqra Association Aicha Barki and three members of the healthcare staff who died in the fight against the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

The orders of merit were presented to the family members of the former president of the Iqra Association, Aicha Barki, as well as to the family members of doctor Wafa Boudissa who practised at he Ras El Oued hospital (Bordj Bou arréridj), to the two sons of the late professor Si Ahmed El Mahdi and to the widow of ambulance driver Djamel Talhi who practised at the Frantz-Fanion hospital of Boufarik (Blida).

The ceremony took place in the privacy of the People's Palace, in the presence of the Advisers to the presidency of the Republic, Abdelhafid Allahoum and Aissa Belakhdar, and several members of the government.
