Covid-19/Eid al-Fitr: Prime Ministry clarifies partial lockdown

ALGIERS-The Prime Ministry on Thursday provided clarifications following requests for further information about the additional measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19, notably restrictions on vehicle traffic, decided by the Prime Minister on the occasion of Eid al Fitr holiday.

"Following the requests for clarification on the additional prevention measures decided by the Prime Minister on the occasion of Eid El Fitr, notably the restrictions on the movement of vehicles, the Prime Minister's Office provides the following clarifications:

Traffic will be suspended for all vehicles, including motorcycles, during the whole day of the 1st and 2nd days of Eid al Fitr holiday. This measure concerns all provinces and remains applicable even outside the hours of partial lockdown, scheduled from 01:00 am  until the next day at 07:00 pm,” said the Prime Ministry.

Moreover, the aforesaid measure aims "essentially to reduce as much as possible the mobility of people and the groupings that it can generate as well as all situations that lead to the spread of the coronavirus epidemic," explained the same source.
