President Tebboune opens Government-walis meeting

ALGIERS-The Government-walis (governors) meeting, themed “For a new Algeria,” kicked off Sunday in Algiers under the chairmanship of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in the presence of Premier Abdelaziz Djerad, members of the Government as well as central and local executives.

The meeting, which will take place at the Palace of Nations (in terms of contributors’ addresses) and at the International Conference Center (in terms of the organization of workshops and debates), will be marked by the presence of 1,100 participants, including members of the government, central and local officials, elected representatives as well as economic partners.

The themes retained for this meeting focus on the ongoing improvement of the citizens’ living conditions through a planning process of local development systems, rational management of economic property, the implementation of an urban governance based on the modern management of new cities and the management of the road issues as part of an integrated multi-sectoral strategy meant to reduce road accidents.
