Algeria will not host centres for illegal migrants, reaffirms PM

NOUAKCHOTT (Mauritania) – Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia declared Saturday in Nouakchott that Algeria "will not agree to host centres for illegal migrants,"  stressing that Algeria position on this matter has already been expressed by Foreign Minister  Abdelkader Messahel.

"Two days ago, Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel has expressed the Algerian position. Algeria will not agree to host centres of this kind," he said.

The "Europeans are looking for places to put their centres," added the Premier.

Ouyahia was speaking in a brief statement to the international press about the "landing centres for illegal migrants." He arrived in the Conference and Congress Centre to participate in the 31st Summit of the African Union Heads of State and Government, on Sunday and Monday.
