"With a view to allowing the inhabitants of the capital to express themselves on the issue, in accordance with regulations banning rallies and demonstrations in Algiers for security reasons, the hall of Mohamed-Boudiaf Olympic Complex Dome will be put, on the morning of Saturday 16 December 2017, at the disposal of associations, political parties and citizens wishing to stage a rally in solidarity with the Palestinian people," said the statement.
In other provinces nationwide, local authorities "will respond favourably to any request to stage rallies in support to the cause of our Palestinian brothers," added the source.
The statement recalled that Algeria has officially denounced the US decision to recognize Al Quds as the capital of the Israeli occupation, as this recognition is in violation of the relevant United Nations resolutions.
"This position is in line with our country's unwavering support to the Palestinian people for the establishment of their independent and sovereign State with Al Quds as its capital," added the source.
"Faithful to their commitment to the Palestinian cause, which they consider as theirs, Algerian people have strongly expressed, through various means, their condemnation and rejection of the decision to consider Al Quds al Sharif as the capital of the Israeli occupation," concluded the Prime Minister Office's statement.
