Arab Justice Ministers’ Council adopts Algerian Law as reference
ALGIERS- Arab Ministers of Justice have chosen as a reference the Algerian Law by adopting the proposal of Minister of Justice Tayeb Belaiz, following the works of the Arab Centre for legal and judicial research, held Monday and Tuesday in Beirut (Lebanon).
The Council of Arab Ministers of Justice adopted the proposal by the Algerian Minister of Justice on the issue of enforcement of court judgments and how to effectively treat them, a statement from the National Chamber of Bailiffs said.
The Executive Council of Arab Ministers of Justice, the source added, has also adopted the proposal of Tayeb Belaiz on the administrative, civil and criminal judgments.

Biotechnology development, a priority for drug control
ALGIERS – Biotechnology development in drug control is one of the priorities of the National Laboratory of Pharmaceuticals Control (LNCPP) for the year 2011, Mohamed Bouslimani Mansouri, Director General of that institution said Wednesday Algiers.
Speaking at a conference on missions of LNCPP, Mansouri indicated that a budget has been allocated for the breeding of animals for laboratory testing will be conducted under international scientific standards.

Mohammed Seghir Babes, elected as chairman of APRM Panel of Eminent Personalities
ALGIERS –President of the National Economic and Social Council (CNES) Mohammed Saghir Babes, was elected chair of the Panel of Eminent Personalities of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM), the CNES said Wednesday.
Domitila Mukantaganzwa was elected vice president of the Panel.
The election was held on the sidelines of the 15th Ordinary Session of the Conference of the African Union (AU) Heads of State and Government held in Kampala.

Social insertion: Placing of 90,000 young people in precariousness
ALGIERS- About 90,000 young people, living in precarious situation, will be placed employed, in 2010, as part of social insertion system activities, the Social Development Agency announced Wednesday.
"A programme of 90,000 new jobs is scheduled for 2010, for the benefit of young people aged between 18 and 40, as part of the activities of social insertion (DAIS)," Director of employment and insertion within ADS Nacera Merouani told APS.
The same official said that among the total number of jobs scheduled, more than 34,000 files have already been validated by the commission of selection, for the placement of the concerned persons.
The DAIS programme, set up in virtue of the executive decree dated on September 10, 2010, in replacement of the old programme called "salaried jobs of local initiates," is intended to persons in precarious situation.

Road accidents: 3 killed, 50 injured Tuesday
ALGIERS- Three persons have been killed and 50 other injured in 24 accidents recorded Tuesday in various regions in the country, National Gendarmerie services announced Wednesday.
The accidents caused death in the provinces of Djelfa (1), Bejaia (1), and Tebessa (1). The other accidents have been recorded in the provinces of Algiers (1), Sidi Bel-Abbes (4), Relizane (4), Mascara (2), Ain Temouchent (1), Biskra (1), Oum El-Bouaghi (1), Bejaia (1), Tebessa (1), Annaba (1), Bordj Bou-Arreridj (1), Khenchela (1), and Souk Ahras (1), the same source added.
Excessive speed, dangerous passing, changing direction without taking necessary precaution, and non-respect of the security distance are the main causes of those accidents, national Gendarmerie concluded.

The world’s oldest condor dies
ALGIERS- Hector, the hundred-year-old condor of the cordillera of the Andes, and oldest condor in the world, died Monday in the zoological park of the Experimental Garden of El Hamma, officials of the garden told APS.
"The condor did not look well, since last week, and seemed very weak," Abderrezak Zeriat General Director of the experimental garden said.
Hector, which has been mentioned in the Guinness world records book, was brought from the Andes by a French patron of arts, Joseph d’Ange, who created in 1900, with his wife, the Algiers’ Zoo.
"Many international specialists, namely zoo executives, incliding Vincennes’ one (Paris), Dr Jean Ranjard, recognized the exceptional case of Hector," Dr Faiçal Haffaci, veterinary and former director of the botanic garden of the experimental garden zoo.

Ben Bella re-elected as head of AU Panel of the Wise
KAMPALA (Uganda) – Former President of the Algerian Republic Ahmed Ben Bella has been re-elected for a five-year term as head of the African Union’s Panel of the Wise, a source of this body indicated Tuesday in Kampala.
Ben Bella has been re-elected for his efforts in favour of peace in Africa and his "convictions," it was explained at the AU which 15th summit is being held in the Ugandan capital (25-27 July).
The AU Panel of the Wise has mission of "preventing the conflicts rather to resolve them," the same source added while noting it supports the efforts of the African Union’s Peace and Security Council.
