
ALGIERS- President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika has underlined the role of the General Union of Algerian Workers (UGTA) in "improving the living and working conditions of workers" and the "pacification of the general climate to ensure the stability in the country."
In a message to the Secretary General of the Central Union of Algerian Workers (UGTA), Abdelmadjid Sidi Said, on the occasion of the double anniversary of the UGTA creation and hydrocarbon nationalization, President Bouteflika praised the "significant contribution" of the central union to "improving the living and working conditions of workers, and the pacification of the general climate to ensure the stability in the country."
The Head of State underlined that the UGTA "has remained, throughout its history, a major trade union that combines between social aspirations with the national duty of the Algerian workers."
In his message, President Bouteflika also praised UGTA role within the Tripartite, a space open to dialogue and consultation between the Government, employers and UGTA."
