GENEVA - The spokesman of the Joint Special Envoy of the UN and the Arab League, Kofi Annan, for Syria confirmed Wednesday the bomb attack against a convoy of observers of the UN heading towards the province of Deraa, in the south, according to news agencies citing a statement.

No casualties were recorded among the observers, but several Syrian soldiers were injured and taken to hospital, spokesman Ahmad Fawzi said in a statement
